Reptile care management app — track feeding, weight, shedding, and more. Smart reminders keep your care schedule on track.

ScaleKeep (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ScaleKeep (the “App”).
We use the information we collect to:
Your pet information, care records, and photos are stored locally on your device, and we do not have access to them. Only data posted to the community feed is stored in the CloudKit Public Database as described below, which we may access in order to handle deletion requests.
If you enable iCloud sync, your pet care data will be stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit Private Database. This data is protected by Apple’s security measures and is only accessible by you through your Apple ID.
The community feed has been discontinued and can no longer be viewed or posted to from the App. No new data is collected or made public through it.
If you used this feature in the past, the following data remains stored in Apple’s CloudKit Public Database:
Purpose and period of retention: We retain this data so that it can be carried over if we bring the feature back. We will decide whether to resume it by the end of March 2027, and will erase any remaining data if we do not.
How to delete it: The App’s Settings screen shows “Delete Community Data”. This item appears only when deletable data (posts, comments, likes, follows, or a profile) is found, and it requires being signed in to iCloud, online, and having iCloud sync on.
If the item above does not appear, turn iCloud sync on and restart the App; the dedicated item will then appear.
If it still does not appear, contact us at info@alivedesign.jp.
Settings → “Delete All Data” also deletes your community data, but it deletes your pet information, care records, photos, and iCloud data as well. Do not use it if you only want to delete your community data.
Deleting the App does not automatically remove data from CloudKit Public Database, so please delete it before uninstalling. If you have already deleted the App, contact us at info@alivedesign.jp.
Scope of deletion: We delete your post, photo, comment, like, and follow records, and clear your display name, bio, and avatar. The user record that Apple generates automatically cannot be deleted due to how CloudKit works, so it remains as an identifier from which we cannot identify you. Comments that other users left on your posts are their own data and are not deleted.
Note: Advertising data processing by Google AdMob and usage analytics by Firebase / Google Analytics are separate. In version 2.2.1 and later, analytics consent is not used as advertising consent. Both are separate from the content you enter as pet records (see “Third-Party Services” below).
The App may use the following Apple services:
The free version of the App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following information:
This information may be used to deliver and measure advertising, analyze usage, and improve SDK quality.
We use Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to check and present advertising choices. UMP may process approximate region, performance information, and interaction information to provide this consent functionality. These advertising and consent functions operate separately from the usage analytics switch.
Advertising choices are presented through a consent form where required for your region and circumstances. In version 2.2.1 and later, Settings → “Privacy choices” provides “Review advertising choices” when privacy options are required. If the consent check fails, ads are paused and Settings provides a way to retry. Pro subscribers do not see advertisements. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
In version 2.2.1 and later, usage analytics is optional and off until you explicitly enable “Share usage analytics” in Settings → “Privacy choices”. This also applies when upgrading if you have not made this new choice. Your choice is saved on this device and is separate from advertising choices and iCloud sync.
If you enable it, the App uses Firebase / Google Analytics to understand usage and improve ScaleKeep. App-defined events cover onboarding, paywall interactions, purchases and subscription status, and the creation of care records. Event details include the record type (feeding, weight, body length, shedding, cleaning, or UVB), product identifier, onboarding page, paywall entry point, pet count when a limit is reached, and Pro status. These events do not include pet names, photos, notes, or the values you enter in care records.
Firebase may also process automatically collected usage events, device and app information, an app instance identifier, and approximate location derived from IP addresses. In version 2.2.1 and later, the App sets Firebase’s advertising storage, advertising user-data, and advertising personalization consent to denied. Enabling usage analytics does not grant these advertising permissions. AdMob has separate advertising settings described above.
You can turn “Share usage analytics” off at any time. The App then stops new analytics collection and resets analytics data stored by the Firebase SDK on the device. This does not itself delete data already received by Google. Turning analytics off does not delete your care records or disable the App’s care features.
Earlier versions: Version 2.2.0 and earlier do not have this separate analytics switch. The earlier analytics description applies to those versions: Firebase / Google Analytics measures usage, including screen views, record creation and purchases, device/app identifiers, and approximate location; data may be linked with Google Ads for advertising measurement and optimization, as described in the previous policy. Update to 2.2.1 or later to use the separate analytics control.
For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You have the right to:
How to make a request: Contact us at info@alivedesign.jp. To verify your identity, we will cross-check the details of your request against the data we hold. We will respond within one month of the request as a rule.
Complaints: If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan (https://www.ppc.go.jp/en/).
Your pet information, care records, and photos remain on your device until you delete the App. If you enable iCloud sync, the data in the Private Database is retained until you turn sync off or delete it from the Settings screen.
Data posted to the community feed is retained for the purpose and period described under “Community Feed” above.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
